First Universalist Church of Essex
a Unitarian Universalist Congregation

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Adult RE
We offer seasonal adult RE classes. Led by our minister and running for approximately 4-6 weeks in the spring and fall, adults gather to discuss a book/topic of interest to the congregation. Discussions on the history of the bible, mysticism, the spirituality of aging, and science and religion are a few examples of the rich conversations and fellowship that we explore together through learning new ideas and sharing life experiences in these small groups.
Children and Youth
Our RE classes represent guided explorations of the founding UU principles through social action and lessons designed to encourage the search for truth and justice. Children participate actively in our classes as we seek to provide an open, inclusive, and enjoyable learning environment. We offer several programs for children from Pre-K through High School.
Our elementary and Junior Youth (Gr. K-7) programs meet weekly during church service.
This year’s RE program will run from September 15, 2019- June 14, 2019.
Our new youth group program for teens aged 14-18, “You Be You (UBU)”, is gaining momentum! Visit us here to find out more!
Child Care
Toddler Care is offered downstairs during Sunday service starting at 9:45 AM, year-round.
